Renewing Your Registration

Renewing Your Registration

APPLICATIONS AND RENEWALS OF REGISTRATION HAVE NOW CLOSED.  PLEASE SEE THE ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE HOMEPAGE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.

Registration with UKCHIP lasts for 12 months. Ideally, registrants should renew their registration before the anniversary of their initial registration so that it runs continuously from the renewal date.

Renewal Process

Renewal Process

Registrants renew their registration by logging in to the registration system and completing the online process. Registrants are able to review and amend their contact and other details if necessary, to confirm their personal CPD activities for the year just elapsed, provide a CPD plan for the coming year and pay the renewal fee.

All registrants are required to provide a CPD plan for each year, which is expected to include at least 40 hours of development relevant to health informatics.

Renewal Reminders

Renewal Reminders

A renewal notice will be sent to registrants four weeks before their renewal is due followed by reminders at two weeks before, on the renewal due date itself and at two weeks later if registration has not been renewed.

Initial reminders will be via email but the registrant will be contacted in writing via their given contact address if they have not renewed by the renewal due date. If an individual’s registration lapses they will be notified by email and at their contact address.

Lapsed Registration

Lapsed Registration

An individual’s registration will be considered to have lapsed if renewal has not been made four weeks after the renewal was due. At this time the individual will no longer be considered a registrant of UKCHIP. A notice to this effect will be sent to the registrant and the registrant’s details will be removed from the UKCHIP public register.

If an individual’s registration lapses and they wish to be reinstated within six months of the renewal due date, they will be able to do this by completing the renewal process and paying the full annual fee. If approved, their registration will be reinstated for a further 12 months commencing from the original renewal due date.

If an application for reinstatement is received more than six months after the renewal due date, the individual will be required to re-apply for registration by completing a full registration form and paying the full registration fee. The application will be assessed using the same procedure as an initial application and sponsor agreement will be required. If approved, the registration will commence from the date it is approved. The applicant’s account will be retained on the online registration system and they will be able to use this to re-apply.

UKCHIP may waive these requirements in the case of a registrant with extenuating circumstances not completing their renewal on time. Such cases will be dealt with on an individual basis.

Apply for Re-grading

Apply for Re-grading

A registrant can apply for re-grading of their registration level at the time of annual registration renewal by completing the full registration process. The re-grading application will be considered by a UKCHIP assessor in the same way as an initial application for registration.

Please email admin@ukchip.net to make an application for a higher grade.

If you have any queries about the registration renewal process, please contact the Administrator by email at admin@ukchip.net.
