Biography:  

Beverley commenced employment within the NHS in 1973, accepting an academic post in 2002.  She is currently employed as Academic Lead, School of Public Health and Clinical Sciences, UCLan.   Her responsibilities include delivering, in conjunction with colleagues, UCLan's MSc in Health Informatics programme via ELearn to both UK based and international students.

Beverley's background within the NHS includes being manager of one of the first ‘paperless' integrated primary health care teams.  She has experience of involvement in national programmes, and regularly contributes to national conferences and publications on health informatics.   She also has first-hand experience of integrated care record systems, maintaining professional standards whilst exploiting the potential of technology to support quality patient care, translating theory into practice.

Relevant professional activities include: Co-Vice Chair UK Faculty of Health Informatics; Fellow of the Higher Education Authority; Secretary of the British Computer Society Health - Primary Healthcare Specialist Group; Member of the Institute of Healthcare Managers and ASSIST; IHRIM NCCQ External Examiner.
