Biography:   Helen qualified as a registered nurse over 35 years ago and has wide clinical experience across secondary care.  Experience was gained working in the community following qualification as a Social Worker.  She was appointed as Resource Management Project Nurse in the late eighties and was heavily involved in the procurement of departmental systems and the implementation of a new patient administration system, the hospital being an alpha site.  Helen has spent time on the NPfIT R2 design team in Slough prior to returning to her Trust where she is heavily involved in the implementation of R0 Cerner Millennium.  She is still is keen to see information technology develop to aid clinicians not as a hindrance.

For the last 15 years Helen has been a committee member of the BCS Health Informatics Specialist Group-Nursing and is now a member of the NHS Clinical Nursing National Advisory Group.  She is the UKCHIP Director Finance.
