Jackie has worked in the NHS since early 1995, always in an informatics role including: designing, managing and delivering the first structured full time IT training programme for the whole of Primary Care across North Yorkshire.  She was a member of the North and East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire eLearning project from its outset; the first full NHS managed learning environment delivering elearning.  She was also a founding member of the North Yorkshire Trainers Forum established to look at standards and CPD for NHS staff involved in training.  This was a very active group delivering relevant workshops, development courses for members on areas to enhance their roles, and developing tools.  Since September 2005, Jackie has been employed in a national role as Informatics Development Manager which has enabled her to continue her passion and belief in personal and professional development for those working in health informatics.  One of the main projects she has led on for England over the last few years is the Health Informatics Career Framework, working closely with colleagues in Wales on this UK wide project.  She is also responsible for the Professionalising Health Informatics (PHI) online portal.

Jackie has been a UKCHIP Council member since 2007.  A strong believer in professionalism and professional registration in health informatics and being in a national role, she takes every opportunity to promote and encourage others to register with UKCHIP.
